A festoon is a string or garland of leaves or flowers (can also be of ribbons or fruits) which are suspended in a draped fashion between two points of support.

In architecture, it is commonly the representation of such a garland, often as an applied decoration on pilasters or panels, or a physical festoon, often suspended in a curve between rosettes.

Can be found in Classical Greek, Classical Roman, Beaux Arts, Classical Revival, Federal, Colonial Revival styles
