Welded Wire Fabric
Welded Wire Fabric, a type of reinforcement, is a welded grid of smooth or deformed wire (deformed wire will increase bond strength with concrete).
When specified, it is commonly in the following format:
(Longitudinal Spacing)x(Transverse Spacing) (D-Deformed/W-Smooth)(Longitudinal Size)/(D/W)(Transverse Size) WWF
where Spacing is in Inches, and Size is in 1/100 square inches of cross section
for example: 6x6 D20/D20 WWF
describes a grid of deformed wire, .2 square inches (or a #4 bar stock) in a 6" by 6" grid.
