Portland Cement
Portland cement is a compound that is used in the making of concrete and stucco, as well as binding elements, such as mortar and grout. Portland cement contains primarily kiln-fired clinker that has been finely ground into a powder, and calcium sulfate, which is necessary for the cement to set. It can also contain a small amount of other materials (5% or less). The exact proportions depend upon the building standard that is mandated by a particular jurisdiction (e.g., EU standards vs. US standards).
